We had an amazing graduation day yesterday full of ceremonies and festive parties with all the parents saying the same thing, “It feels like yesterday when they were in kindergarten.” There’s a saying I love that describes parenting perfectly. “The days are long, but the years are short.”
I remember so many long days between when my kids were babies and now that one is a high school graduate. There were a million responsibilities filling those days and now it’s bittersweet to see them complete their schooling knowing that my daughter and all her friends are going on various trips in the fall. I am very excited for her future but also sense the imminent changes that will come with her absence as she heads to college across the country.
I’m going to Florida on Tuesday where I have several renovation projects waiting for me when I arrive. I’m also looking forward to exploring the area because there are so many cool places to visit along the Gulf Coast. New adventures are on the horizon!
