I’ve spent the whole week preparing my daughter to move to the east coast for college. Yesterday we drove her to the airport for an early flight and Matt will be arriving a few days later to help her settle in. I am visiting in October to bring warm clothes. It was a really tough day. She has occupied the same bedroom for over 18 years since I brought her home from the hospital so sad to see it empty. She’ll be back for the holidays and next summer and I’m really looking forward to this new season of her life, but it sure is an emotional adjustment!
Now that we have a half-empty nest, it opens up my schedule a little more. I started an 8 week ceramics course at a local pottery studio and I love it. We learn to build with panels using templates and molds, it’s so much fun! After this course I will learn how to use the wheel and I can see that ceramics is a new creative outlet for me. If I feel qualified enough, I might sell on Etsy in the future, who knows!
