Happy Thanksgiving friends! Today the family has an early feast and then goes to the beach for sunset. We have so much fun here in Florida!
My sister-in-law and I enjoy delicious margaritas while we prepare the meal. This recipe is also good for the day after Thanksgiving as it makes good use of the cranberry sauce!
I like to make my cranberry sauce the day before, here is the easy recipe I use:
Add two 12 ounces. Place bag of rinsed fresh cranberries in medium saucepan. Add 1 cup orange juice, 1 cup water and 1 ½ cups sugar to the cranberries. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, cook and stir until cranberries start to pop, 3 minutes. Reduce heat to low and stir continuously for 10 minutes. Add more sugar to taste if you like your cranberry sauce sweeter. Chill the cranberry sauce in the refrigerator for an hour.
To make the margaritas you will need tequila, ice, triple sec and fresh limes. In a blender, combine 1 ½ oz. tequila, 1 tsp triple sec, 1 ½ cups ice, 1 tbsp. Cranberry sauce and fresh squeeze of 1 lime for each margarita. Mix and serve!
Happy Thanksgiving! I’m taking a few days off to spend time with family and will post the weekend recap on Sunday.
